Mohamed BuAsali is a petroleum engineer with a degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Mohamed began his career in Bapco Refining, where he honed his technical skills. Transitioning to Bapco Upstream, Mohamed specialized as an oil and gas production and completion engineer, further advancing his expertise in the field. Mohamed then took on a strategic role as a portfolio manager at Bapco Energies HQ, focusing on the ongoing Energy Transformation in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In his latest position, Mohamed is playing an instrumental role in establishing the Compliance function for the Bapco Energies Group, ensuring regulatory adherence, and promoting best practices across the Group. With a strong foundation in engineering and project management, he continues to contribute to the growth and innovation of the energy sector in Kingdom of Bahrain.

Senior Lecturer at the Banking and Finance Center of the BIBF, holds a key role in overseeing the Risk and Sustainability Academy. She possesses a range of professional certifications, including the Professional Risk Manager (PRM) from PRMIA, Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) from GARP, and an MBA in Business Administration from Strathclyde University.

Nadia's professional background includes notable positions such as AVP Market Risk Senior Manager at Gulf International Bank (GIB) and Head of Market and Middle Office Desk at Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK). Her career in BBK began in 2009 as an Executive Trainee. In 2020, she was selected for the prestigious Ashridge leadership program, the first of its kind for senior managers in BBK. Nadia was also part of the inaugural mentorship program initiated by BBK.

With over 15 years of experience in Risk Management, Nadia's expertise extends beyond her academic role. She has served as a part-time lecturer with Ernst and Young, accumulating over 600 hours of training experience. Her areas of specialization lie in Risk Management, particularly in Market Risk solutions and Sustainability Risk. Nadia's involvement extends to the PRMIA Mentorship program globally, leveraging her expertise in Market Risk and Sustainability to drive impactful solutions.

Master’s degree holder in Occupational Health and Safety and bachelor’s degree holder in Chemistry and Oil and Gas Certified Safety and Health Official, Certified by ICA with GRC Diploma, and as international enterprise risk management certificated by IRM- UK , Prince 2 Practitioner and MBCI member by the Business continuity Institute in UK and more than 15 proficiency certificate in the fields of Risk, Compliance, Business Continuity, Governance, Crisis Management and Health and Safety. Nineteen years’ experience at Bapco Refining . One year and Half as Manager Risk, Compliance and Information Security Department, involved in the establishment and implementation of Compliance Management program this includes development of regulatory inventory and evaluation of compliance with legal requirements, and the identification of areas of gaps and the establishment of a compliance closure plan and testing requirements. In addition the implementation of compliance policies and procedures. Operated on enhancing the existing Risk Management Process, this includes conduction of risk refresh across the whole organization and alignment between divisional risks and enterprise risks, in addition the embedding of the risk management process across the whole organization. Basma Assal is the Customer Success Manager for Risk and Compliance Solutions at LSEG with 10+ years of experience in fostering customer relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction.

She helped more than 200 largest banks and financial institutions, corporates, regulatory enforcement bodies, and government and intelligence agencies in 12 countries across EMEA by using modern technologies which simplifies day-to-day customer onboarding and monitoring decisions to fulfill the due diligence obligations, the requirements under KYC, the anti-money laundering (AML), the counterterrorist financing legislation, and the anti-bribery and corruption.

Basma ensures that customers effectively utilize the risk and compliance products to mitigate risks, maintain regulatory compliance, and understand their unique risk management and compliance challenges to achieve their objectives. Keeping them informed about changes in regulatory requirements and providing guidance on how to maintain compliance using AML solutions.

Her experience includes active participation in various workshops and panels across the region, where she has shared her knowledge and perspectives.
