From Sovereign Policy to Corporate Strategy and Capital Allocation: Investing in the Next Phase of the Transition
Tuesday, 13th October 2026 | 07:30 - 09:20 | nhow Hotel Amsterdam RAI
LSEG and the Transition Pathway Initiative (TPI) are delighted to be hosting a partnered event at PRI in Person 2026.
For much of the last decade, climate discussions focused primarily on corporate commitments and investor net-zero targets. Today, the centre of gravity is shifting. Three realities are converging:
- Energy security has returned as a strategic priority following geopolitical shocks and volatility in energy markets
- Electricity demand is rising significantly due to AI, data centres, industrial electrification and economic development
- Governments, not just corporates, are increasingly recognised as the critical actors in determining the pace and direction of transition
The key question is no longer simply: ‘Are companies aligned with the Paris agreement targets?’ but also ‘Which countries, sectors and companies are best positioned to deliver a secure, affordable and investable transition?’.
This event will explore how the transition debate is shifting beyond corporate commitments towards the interaction between sovereign policy, energy security and capital allocation, with sovereigns emerging as an increasingly important frontier for investor engagement. Bringing together perspectives from across the investment ecosystem, attendees will gain insights from industry experts and have the opportunity to network with peers.
