Ms. Marina Agathangelou is the EMEA Senior Customer Success Manager for Risk Intelligence at the London Stock Exchange Group.  She has extensive experience helping top-tier financial institutions in both the private and public sectors across EMEA improve or create their third-party compliance programmes. 

Ms. Agathangelou has been working for LSEG (formerly Refinitiv/Thomson Reuters) since 2010 holding various positions and has an extensive experience in customer success along with a comprehensive knowledge in AML/Compliance regulations and trends. She is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and a Certified Global Sanctions Specialist (CGSS) and holds a master’s degree from University College London.

Vishal heads the Specialist team for Governance, Risk and Compliance solutions for Middle East and Africa at LSEG.

Vishal is a seasoned technology leader with 15+ years’ experience in domains like Risk, Regulatory compliance, Fraud and Financial Crime, E-Fx, Customer Analytics, Information Management and Business Intelligence.

Vishal has consulted various public and private organisations in Middle East, Africa and India increasing their adoption of technology to solve business challenges.

Vishal is a Software Engineering and holds an MBA in Marketing with special interest in Angel investment in Technology start-ups in the field of Artificial intelligence, Big Data and Machine Learning

Che Sidanius is the Global Head of Financial Crime & Industry Affairs at LSEG. His role is to identify regulatory changes and lead programs of action with the sole purpose of enhancing the fight against financial crime more effective and delivering the best possible outcome for the industry. Together with the World Economic Forum and Europol, he’s the founder of the Global Coalition to Fight Financial Crime and Co-Chair of the B20’s Integrity and Compliance Taskforce.

Prior to joining LSEG, his work experiences include being a Senior Advisor to the Bank of England's Financial Stability Directorate and previously a Senior Bank Examiner at the Federal Reserve Bank of NY. His most notable awards included receiving the Presidential Award for managing the 2007-09 Financial Crisis and a driving force behind Refinitiv’s Impact Company of the year award in 2019 and contributor to the same award in 2021.

Che received his Master’s in International Affairs from the School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University and undergraduate degree in Political Science from UC Berkeley in California

Dr George Theocharides is the Chairman of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). He is also the Chairman of the Risk Standing Committee (RSC). The RSC is part of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and the successor of the Committee for Economic and Markets Analysis (CEMA), for which Dr. Theocharides served also as Chairman, between March and December 2022.

He served as CySEC’s Vice Chairman from July 2020 to September 2021 and was previously a CySEC Board member. He has extensive experience working in the wider financial sector. From September 2010 until July 2020, he held the position of Associate Finance Professor at the Cyprus International Institute of Management (CIIM) and Director of the MSc in Financial Services Programme.

Prior to joining CIIM, he worked as an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Sungkyunkwan University of South Korea from 2006 to 2010. In 2006, he also worked as an International Faculty Fellow at the Sloan School of Management of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In the past, he served as a member of the Interim Board of Bank of Cyprus, Chairman of the Board of the Cyprus Blockchain Technologies Ltd, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus-Kuwait Business Association.

He also served as a member of the Training/HR Committee of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA), Chairman of the Board of Management of The English School, as well as a non-executive member of the Board of Directors for a number of organisations and companies in the financial services sector. He is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) and a Research Associate at the UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies (UCL CBT). Dr. Theocharides holds a degree of BΕng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering & Electronics from the University of Manchester (U.M.I.S.T.), an MBA from the University of San Diego and a PhD in Finance from the University of Arizona.

Andrea Moundi Savvides is the Global Director of Risk and Compliance. She is a qualified lawyer and has extensive experience in the field of financial services, AML, and sanctions, and regularly works with our Tax and Regulatory team.

Andrea also advises on competition law matters, at both local and European level including advising on issues which require notification to the relevant authorities. Prior to joining us in 2018, Andrea was a senior corporate lawyer in the legal and compliance team of an authorised investment firm where she liaised with regulators in multiple jurisdictions.

She also gained experience in financial services law and regulation including MiFID II and other regulatory regimes such as the automatic exchange of information. She regularly advises clients on a range of regulatory issues which include white collar crimes, sanctions, and anti-money laundering cases.

She also practiced as an advocate advising on various contentious and non-contentious matters. Andrea holds several professional certifications, including the CySEC Advanced, the CySEC AML, and the ICA International Diploma in Anti-Money Laundering. She is Chair of the Cyprus Compliance Association, a body dedicated to advancing the professional growth of governance, risk, and compliance professionals in Cyprus. She is also a member of the Cyprus Bar Association’s Anti-Corruption Committee and Committee for the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing activities and breaches of sanctions.

Mr. Theodoros Stavrou is currently Head of Compliance of SGBCy as well as founding member of the board of directors Cyprus Compliance Association (CCA).

Mr. Theodoros Stavrou, is an experienced AML compliance expert and will cover all the requirements set by the relevant legislation, as well as the changes brought about by the recent developments on sanctions, the implementation of the Cyprus Law, and the 5th EU Anti-Money Laundering Directive.

Nassos began his career as auditor for Financial Services companies and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He then moved to Abacus Limited. In 2014 he became an ACAMS (Association of Certified Anti-Money laundering Specialists) member and soon after CAMS

(Certified Anti-Moneylaundering Specialist) certified.

Since 2015 Nassos was heading the Compliance Department at Abacus Limited. Nassos gave a number of presentations on Compliance matters in Cyprus and abroad.

He is also a founding member and Vice chair of the ACAMS Cyprus chapter since 2015 and Chairman of the ICPAC AML & Compliance committee from 2020 to 2023. Nassos was also leading the DNFBP (Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions) module for the National Risk Assessment and participated in numerous task forces for the issuance of Directives, Guidance Notes and Certifications in the field of AML, CTF and Compliance.

Demetris Taxitaris is the Chief Executive Officer of MAP S.Platis, a leading consulting Group in the provision of solutions in international licensing, regulatory compliance, internal audit, risk management, human resources, regulatory technology, information technology, business resilience, information security including cybersecurity, governance, executive training and innovation consulting to regulated and other firms.

In the past, he worked at Bank of Cyprus as Head of Asset Management with local and international clients, individuals and institutionals, across all industries. Prior to that, Demetris worked at Deloitte in London where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant, becoming a member of the ICAEW. Demetris is a member of the Boards of Directors of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (‘ICPAC’), the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (‘CIFA’) and the Association of Cyprus International Financial Firms (‘ACIFF’).

Christoforos Livadiotis has been dealing with AML for over 20 years. He is currently the Group Chief AML Officer for Trading Point Group (https://www.trading-point.com), a global leader in the brokerage industry. He is also the AMLCO the Group’s regulated entity in Cyprus, Trading Point of Financial Instruments Ltd, trading under www.xm.com .

Christoforos has an extensive knowledge and experience of the AML function from the banking standpoint as well, as he previously was the Head of Compliance and the MLCO of AstroBank Ltd (previously Piraeus Bank (Cyprus) Ltd) for a number of years.

Prior to joining Piraeus Bank (Cyprus) Ltd, Christoforos worked for 5 years as a financial analyst/investigator in the Cyprus FIU, (MOKAS), under the Attorney General of the Republic of Cyprus.

Christoforos holds a BSc from the University of East Anglia (UEA) in Accounting with Management and a MSc from the University of Reading – ISMA Centre Business School in International Securities Investment and Banking (ISIB).

Niki Charilaou is the Manager of Financial Crime & Sanctions Compliance, at Bank of Cyprus. She has led the cultural transformation of the Bank since 2014 by revamping its AML and Sanctions Compliance Framework.

She commenced her career as an auditor, while, since 1998, she held managerial positions in the banking industry in Finance, Investment Banking and Compliance.

She is a holder of a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University (USA), a Certified Chartered Accountant (ACA), a Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and a Certified Global Sanctions Specialist (CGSS).

She was also appointed and participated as a member of EBA’s Technical Expert Group on restrictive measures regimes and targeted financial sanctions.
