Thomas is Product Director for LCH Data and Analytics, responsible for LCH’s data and analytics solutions, and for overseeing the global commercial strategy. Thomas has over a decade of experience in the application of analytics, cloud services and emerging technologies for financial services. Before joining LCH in 2019, he spent eight years at Thomson Reuters in senior positions, latterly as Global Head of Analytic Services. In this role, Thomas spearheaded the business’s response to key customer priorities, including MiFID II and digital transformation. Prior to this, he was a Financial Engineer for Kx Systems.

Thomas holds a MSc in Financial Services and a BSc in Computer Systems from the University of Limerick.

Bernardo is a Director at Alpha FMC Risk and Compliance practice with 15 years of regulatory consulting experience for the Asset and Wealth Management Industry. Bernardo has a range of experience across different European regulatory frameworks and leads Alpha’s Regulatory Reporting work in the context of MiFIR, EMIR, SFTR, AIFMD/UCITS, and others. Bernardo has led some of the largest buy side implementation, remediation and back reporting projects.

Michael Fernandez-Bertier is Director at Compliance4Business consulting firm.

He is also a member of the New York bar and a former attorney-at-law at the Brussels bar.

He specializes in financial crime prevention compliance, white collar crime and criminal procedure, with particular expertise on anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing, anti-bribery and corruption, economic and financial sanctions compliance, whistleblowing compliance, anti-fraud, internal investigations and criminal settlements and court proceedings.

Michael is also a lecturer in the Tax Management Executive Master Program at Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management and in interuniversity certificates including the UCLouvain-USL-B Certificate in (Re)inventing Your Compliance Program.

Among other scientific activities, Michael is the editorial co-director of the Business Criminal Law Manuals, and a member of the editorial board of the Belgian Criminal Law and Criminology Review, the Belgian Business Criminal Law Review and the European Journal on Compliance and Integrity.

He is also a member of the CRID&P and CRIDES (UCLouvain) and GREPEC (USL-B) research groups and a PhD candidate in Law at Université catholique de Louvain.

Michael regularly speaks at conferences and trainings and regularly publishes in specialised press, law journals and manuscripts in Belgium and abroad (list available upon request).

He is also a board member of Transparency International Belgium.

Ronald Verhoeven is manager Market Data Oversight within the Capital Markets division at the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets.

Ronald’s team is responsible for the on-going supervision on a wide array of regulatory reporting responsibilities including MiFID II/MiFIR, EMIR, SFTR, TD, MAR and SSR.  With his team Ronald is committed to making the best use of this data by contributing to the development of data-driven capital markets supervision and addressing data quality deficiencies.

Ronald also has a keen interest in crypto products and the spillovers between crypto markets and capital markets. Within AFM he is involved in several activities to better understand the technology and its regulatory challenges and complexities.

Mr. Verhoeven’s capital markets career within AFM spans over 15 years. Previously, he was responsible for Prospectus Supervision and prior to the AFM he worked for a proprietary trading company and in IT.

Ronald majored in private and administrative law (UU) and has completed postgraduate programme’s in securities law (Grotius Academy) , enterprise risk management (UvA) and business analyses & data sciences (VU). 

Eva Maria is Head of Product Management & Strategy and Regulatory Management within ABN AMRO Markets. She is responsible for the execution of strategic initiatives within Markets and oversees the implementation of regulatory oversight and product management capabilities. With her team, she focuses on translating external developments, such as product, technology, sustainability and regulation, to the strategic product roadmap for Markets in alignment with the strategy of ABN AMRO.

Eva Maria has been working within ABN AMRO for over 15 years, and more than a decade of experience in financial markets focusing on product development, regulatory change and strategy execution across Asia Pacific and Europe.

Eva Maria holds a MSc in Strategic Management and BSc in International Management from the Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
