Global M&A Up 9% YTD; US M&A Accounts for 47% of Overall Global M&A

Worldwide announced M&A reached US$2.82 trillion during the first eleven months of 2024, an increase of 9% compared to last year’s January-November total of US$2.58 trillion. While up from last year, 2024 global M&A is down 17% from the previous ten-year YTD average of US$3.40 trillion recorded between 2014 and 2023. The number of deal announcements declined 20% from last year at this time.

US$216 billion worth of M&A transactions were recorded during the month of November 2024, 14% less than in October.
