Taking place during London Climate Action Week, Delivering the Transition: Connecting the Cogs – Aligning Policy, Business & Finance brings together global leaders from government, industry and finance to explore how high‑integrity transition plans can be turned into real‑world action. In partnership with LSEG, the Transition Pathway Initiative (TPI), the TPI Global Climate Transition Centre at the London School of Economics (TPI Centre at LSE), the World Business Council For Sustainable Development (WBCSD), the United Nations Environmental Program Finance Initiative (UNEP-FI) and the International Transition Plan Network (ITPN), this half‑day event will focus on the critical interdependencies between policymakers, real‑economy companies and the financial sector in delivering credible, investable and scalable transition planning.
Hosted by David Schwimmer, CEO, LSEG, the morning combines high‑level plenary and theatre sessions with two parallel, in‑depth workshops under the Chatham House Rule - run by the TPI Centre at LSE, UNEP-FI and WBCSD - to enable open dialogue, designed to support practical implementation. The event will address both global transition challenges and the UK’s evolving corporate reporting landscape. Participants will gain clarity, and contribute to the dialogue, on what effective transition plans require across policy, corporate strategy and capital allocation.
One workshop will focus on navigating external dependencies in transition planning, examining how shifting policy priorities are reshaping the current climate landscape and how dependencies are affecting the delivery of plans. The second workshop will address portfolio decarbonisation for banks and their engagement with investors, progress since Glasgow, and how green and transition finance can accelerate real-economy decarbonisation.
